FIRST CLASS FANTASY

And fantasy it is!!
I thought travelling business class on an Emirates flight once was the epitome of luxury but Singapore Airlines have taken it to a whole new level. In a bid to stay ahead of the premium airline boom, Singapore Airlines has unveiled an entirely new cabin for its fleet of A380 planes. The redesign, which has been planned for some time allows 471 passengers across 4 classes including 6 first class suites that have to be seen to be believed. Situated on the upper deck the suites offer privacy from the pressures of air travel and include a separate full-flat bed (couples have the option to combine theirs into a double bed) that can be stowed away for more space as well as a separate reclining seat. The suites also feature 32″ screens, a full-sized personal wardrobe, custom carpet and mood lighting on feature walls. Not stopping there, the first-class ticket also provides passengers with two exclusive bathrooms. Although from the pics you can see that the suite doors are not full height and also have a cut-out design incorporated so privacy is not all it could be. Be prepared to reach deep into your hip pocket too as a one-way ticket from Sydney to London will not give much change from $8500. |

"The Residence" by Etihad.
The three-section private cabin for two passengers features a lounge area, a bedroom and a bathroom with shower. There is also an on-board butler solely to service these guests, trained by the Savoy Butler Academy in London, part of the Savoy Hotel. It is located at the front end of the aircraft on the upper deck. The residence bedroom features a double bed, joined to the living room by a short corridor. The living room features a two-seat leather couch, a dining table and private mini-bar. Both the living room and bedroom have LCD television screens for in-flight entertainment. The space, covering almost 12 square metres on the aircraft, is unprecedented in commercial airline travel. Now we are talking big money here, one-way Sydney to London $30,000 though as The Residence has been designed for two people in mind if you book for two the second person travels for a miserly extra $10,000!!!! |
